Let me answer the question. Who is Niranjan Pathak?
Honestly, sometimes even I am not sure. But I am the person writing this and that already makes me sound more organised than I really am.
I am someone who tries a lot of things, fails at some, improves at others and somehow keeps going. I do comedy, I write, I create content, I work a corporate job and I overthink every small moment as if Netflix will release a documentary on my life.
Why I Am Writing This
People often search for me online. Maybe they think I am someone important. Maybe they just spelled someone else’s name wrong. Either way, I thought let me make life easy and put everything about me in one place.
Who I Actually Am
I am a guy who loves humor but also forgets punchlines at the wrong time. I am a writer who sometimes stares at the wall for ten minutes thinking of one sentence. I am a performer who hides his own performance videos like top secret files because I cannot stand watching myself.
Basically, I am a work in progress.
My Early Life Story
Growing Up Normally
I grew up in Maharashtra. Nothing too dramatic. No Bollywood style childhood. Just a simple life with family, food, friends and the occasional embarrassing moment that I now use as comedy material.
Early Cringe and Curiosity
As a kid, I watched wrestling so seriously that I copied entrances in the house. If someone had recorded those moments, I would have retired from life. Thankfully nobody did. My curiosity and random thoughts slowly turned into my observation skills.
My Education
M J College Jalgaon
I studied at M J College under North Maharashtra University. College was a mix of studies, stress, laughs and a lot of chai. I did well academically which was surprising even for me.
What I Learned About Myself
College taught me I can actually handle pressure. It also taught me that even if I study, I will still forget important things at the exact wrong time. But it shaped my personality and my confidence.
My Professional Journey
BYJUS Phase
My first professional chapter was at BYJU as a Business Development Executive. It taught me how to talk to people and how to pretend I understand everything even when I do not. A very valuable skill.
Aspire Webs Chapter
Later I joined Aspire Webs and Informatics Pvt Ltd as a Customer Support Executive. My job is serious but my brain is sometimes not. I handle customer queries while mentally writing jokes about office life. That is my version of work life balance.
My TV Internship Experience
Here comes the legendary part. I worked as an intern writer for a Marathi TV show. The experience was very miserable so let us not talk too much about it, but hey I did work for TV and that matters. The show was so boring that even the channel forgot it existed. But I still count it as experience because why not.
My Standup Comedy Life
How I Started Standup
I started standup around 2019 or 2020. I went on stage, panicked internally, performed externally and prayed the crowd would not throw tomatoes. Thankfully they laughed.
What My Comedy Style Is
My comedy is observational. I talk about things that everyone sees but nobody discusses. Social media behavior, family logic, daily struggles and my own stupidity.
The Hangman, Aerial Assassin and Classic Names
I am a wrestling fan. That explains everything. Hangman (stolen from Hangman Adam Page), Aerial Assassin (stolen from Will Ospray) and Classic (I don’t know where I got this) make me feel like I have a stage identity even when the stage is just a café with ten chairs.
Why I Do Not Post Standup
Here is the truth. I keep my standup life private. I never post my standup videos because I am not yet satisfied with my own performance. People might enjoy it but I hate watching myself on video. The day I start loving it, I will definitely post.
